It also did a great job in moving around my bar stool and didn't get in the way of them as the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL can't detect toys, cords and shoes that may be in its path which means you'll have to clean your home prior to running this robotic vacuum to avoid these things.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+, but it's a great option if you do not want to spend over $500 on a robotic. It's superior to the eufy RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's easier to maintain and has lower recurring costs. It is also better at vacuuming bare flooring and removing pet fur, but isn't as effective on carpets with a low or carpets with higher pile.

It's also not as sturdy as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It can be operated by an app or a voice command and is easy to maintain. It is also a reasonable price.
