BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or adding a new lock to bypass the security system.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser that is designed to protect your vehicle from being taken through key cloning and hacking. It works by utilising the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an unique sequence of presses that only you can identify, much as the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's incredibly secure, discreet and deterrence for even the most determined thieves!

If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle using your keys but prevents the engine from starting again until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for customers who need to hand their vehicles over to valet companies or other trusted friends and family members. It also lets you bring the vehicle into the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it getting taken away or altered by a mechanic whilst you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from testing the vehicle while you are away. When you return, it will return to normal stopping your vehicle from being damaged or stolen once again.

Anti-Hijack

Ghost created this subtle, unobtrusive device to combat the increasing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from putting in a key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence that must be entered before the engine can be started.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. The system will honk the horn, flash the indicators and stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without having to enter a PIN.

If you own an GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to disable the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

You can also track your vehicle on a map in real-time on your smartphone.

The ghost ii immobiliser can be placed under the dashboard, or in the centre console. It is completely hidden and secure, and doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code what is ghost immobiliser programmed into it.
