WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade items gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade (click through the following post) will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or item level Upgrade complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.

Crests

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose.
