It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one motion. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic vacuum cleaner and mop emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuums that Mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or robot vacuums that mop iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
