WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, Item Level Upgrade the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item level upgrade from another player will costs 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, item Level upgrade and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool with the help of button, which displays a preview of the item level upgrade at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
