Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Faculty may find their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. In addition, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes exams, they are scheduled at the regular class time during the exam week.

Registration

Students are encouraged to consult the exam schedule online. However it is important to note that the exam schedule can be altered at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors for the exact time and date of their exam. Students should also be certain to print the official list and bring it to their exams.

Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and terms of the exam in addition to the exam schedule. These can be found on the page for each exam. When they register, students agree that they have read and agree to these conditions and terms.

Exam locations will do their best to accommodate students who have special requirements. The nature and the extent of these needs should be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. Additionally the exam sites must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day, it is recommended that they contact their instructor or department to arrange an alternate exam. While it is possible to take three tests in a single day, it can result in a high stress level and can affect the quality of the exam. The professor might not be able to give a makeup test on another day.

Before taking the exam, students must prepare by studying their syllabus and practicing their German skills. The test is a paper-based test that assesses the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The results of the examination are reported using a scale from Prawo Jazdy Kategorii A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate confirms that the student has achieved language level egzaminowanie kategorii a1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competency set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students are required to carry a valid government ID to the test. Those who do not have a valid photo ID will be disqualified from taking the exam.

Fees

You will have to pay a fee for the examination for the opportunity to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice assessments allow you to get familiar with the format, wording, and difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you assess your knowledge, identify gaps and increase your chances of passing the exam.

Please note that the exam fee isn't refundable. Exam results can only be accessed via email and not by telephone.
