World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This increases the power of the equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players improve the quality of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. The process is similar to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the currency appropriate to the task, players must visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.

Requirements

Time

Upgrades to items are a method to increase your ship's stats and gear without the need to level them up. Players can also find upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvage with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are stored in tools for gathering can be exchanged without restriction.

A player can reroll an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow that indicates reroll. This will change the layout and allow players to choose up to six items for "recycling". The item that is recycled will be exchanged with an item upgrader kit of level 1 of the same kind. Recycled items don't keep their status or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.

An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its tier and quality. Common items can be upgraded to a maximum of level six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The item upgrades are added to its base statistics. This means that they won't grow in the future after a certain level.
